"In March of 2014, my friend, Heather coerced me into coming with her to check out Everbody's gym and their Biggest Loser Competition. I agreed to sign up for a team, thinking I would do this for a couple of months, just to be a supportive friend, and when it was over, I'd never come back. I've never been much of an exercise buff. I did not anticipate losing any weight, as my doctor had recently told me a slowing metabolism and weight gain was a normal part of aging and to just accept it. During that season, I attended team workouts and other classes and ended up losing 25 lbs.! Not only that, but my team won that season. I admit I wasn't exactly overjoyed to win a year's gym membership. Lol BUT, I found over that year’s time, that I really enjoyed coming out with my Spencer County girls, I enjoyed the camaraderie of the people I had met at the gym, the euphoria I felt after completing a good workout, and the way I feel in general. But the most exciting and unexpected benefit was with a small weight loss and regular exercise, I have lowered my blood pressure by 20+ points and have dropped from three BP medications per day to one!
