Jeremy Hockenberry

I woke up one morning feeling bad. I showered and got on the scale and it read 285 lbs! When I went downstairs, I saw my kids and thought I want to be around and be able to run after them. I knew then it was time to do something about it. It was time to change! I started out small. I would go to the gym and walk 1 mile a day on the treadmill. Then when that was no longer a challenge I went to 2 miles. I gradually worked my way up to walking 4 miles on the treadmill and 8 miles on the elliptical. I am also doing strength training. A big change that I made was my eating habits. I started eating healthier and I gave up soft drinks. With lots of changes, hard work and dedication I am now 120 lbs lighter and that took a little over a year to achieve. My advice to anyone starting out or struggling is do not give up; it doesn’t happen overnight! You can have lots of reasons to want to lose weight and make a healthier you but in the end you have to want it for yourself!! - Jeremy Hockenberry
