Debbie MillerHmmmm, where do I start?! All my life I have been heavy set. Time and time again my doctor told me I needed to lose weight and get my A1C and blood pressure under control. In May 2014 I got some bad news; I got up that morning getting ready for work and felt really funny. I made it to work only to have slurred speech and no control over the right arm. I had a major stroke. I called the doctor's office and was referred to a vascular surgeon in Evansville. I found out I had 95% blockage in the carotid artery and was scheduled for surgery within the week, no option. After surgery and recovery, in July of the same year, Teresa Dauby was looking for one more person for her team in the Biggest Loser Corporate Challenge, so I thought I would give it a try. After all I was needing some changed in my life. OMG! I was hooked! I lost some weight and felt better health wise. Then came the time to sign up for the Biggest Loser Season 11. I didn't know anyone and not well with meeting and getting up in front of people. The people at EverBody's helped me find a team I was comfortable with. The team I chose was Over 55, who are a great bunch of women and they made me feel right at home. Thank you Karen and Sheila for encouraging and pushing me to where I am today, the girls on this team are like family. I found that I like to walk, Zumba and yes beginning spinning. I still have trouble coming out of my comfort zone, but slowly getting over it. My blood pressure is down and A1C levels are down also. I have two doctors that are thrilled with what I have accomplished. This is the best I have felt in a long time and don't sound like a 747 jet when I walk-run. I have participated in 3 5ks and the 2015 Turkey Trot. I may not be a runner, but I can walk-run. I hope to participate in the Schweizer Fest walk-run this year. I have had my shares of ups and downs with the weight, but don't we all? I signed up for the Biggest Loser Season 12 and I can't wait to see what else I can accomplish. Maybe working with elliptical and toning machines. The EverBody's family is the best there is around. They are there to help you accomplish your goals. - Debbie Miller
